She has wings

January 20, 2017 - 7:30pm
The Radcliffe Choral Society joins Northwest Girlchoir Amore and the small ensembles of Seattle Pro Musica for a collaborative concert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood, WA.
Radcliffe Choral Society presents selections from their acclaimed Winter 2017 touring program.
Northwest Girlchoir Amore presents music that celebrates winter skies—sun, moon, stars, and northern lights—including Amid the Splendors of the Sun, an Appalachian folk song setting by Nick Page, and Ave Maris Stella, the December 2016 commission by Seattle composer Jessica French.
Seattle Pro Musica presents encore performances of the best and most compelling works for small ensembles from their season - including Ēriks Ešenvalds' ethereally beautiful Stars, featuring the use of tuned water glasses to evoke the feeling of gazing into the clear night sky.
The three organizations will conclude with the combined number Be like the Bird by Abbie Betinis, with text by Victor Hugo.
"Be like the bird who, pausing in her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing she hath wings."
-Victor Hugo
